A life lesson from a joke

While this is a funny joke, there is some truth behind this especially in the american school system.

I’ll provide the short version – the general public learns information that might help later in life. For example:

If you’re an artist, and can do math, that’s engineering

If you’re a car person, you can repair/sell vehicles

If you’re a good writer, and you’re proficient in multiple languages, you can write various material the public can read and understand

If you’re a weapons expert, that’s training for the military to help with warfare

Instead, you go to school, to go to college, to be in debt, to maybe get the job you want. Experience apparently means you’re overqualified.

This Covid-19 situation made me realize there’s a lot of opportunities missed because of how screwed up the education system is.
