To those unaware, this is the second model of the Sega Genesis released in the 90s. I owned this model instead of the original. Later I owned the model 2 of the Sega CD (which I will discuss at another time) which broadened my gaming horizons even more. This piece of hardware:
Kept me out of trouble
Fun to play
Has some legendary experiences even games today can’t replicate
Helped me bond with others at school
Helped my reading and writing
Expanded my vision in the gaming industry
Helped me boost my confidence
My though processes amplified
Helped my thought processes with other debates (Genesis vs SNES)
However, according to Fox News:
Your kids will grow up violent
Social interaction reduces to 0
Video games in general are bad just because we said so
Mortal Kombat is too violent for kids and needs to be adjusted
Today marks the original release of the Sega Genesis (Mega Drive in Europe). I’d like to take the time to thank Sega for helping me through the beginning of my adolescence until I obtained the PlayStation.
